Childhood in all its dimensions
Since 1982, the Mustela Foundation has been working to help children in every aspect of their lives: birth, development, family relationships, social situation, etc. Its action is based on three pillars: support for academic research, support for field initiatives and information and awareness-raising for childhood health professionals and the general public. Sheltered from the outset by the Fondation de France, the Mustela Foundation implements its actions in close collaboration with childhood specialists.
Multidisciplinary research
First and foremost, support for research: this has always been the Mustela Foundation's mission. In over 40 years of activity, it has awarded more than 250 prizes and research grants! With a strong commitment to rewarding work in the various fields related to child development: pediatrics, psychiatry, psychology, maieutics, sociology, public health, etc. The Mustela Foundation supports research projects conducted by a wide range of professionals, from midwives to epidemiologists, doctors and psychologists.
In the field, in France and abroad
The Mustela Foundation also supports initiatives in the field, such as parental support workshops, the fight against domestic violence, support for families in precarious situations, and care for isolated mothers or those suffering from mental health problems, through associations based in France. In addition, we provide annual support for projects run by foreign associations and NGOs committed to helping children and their families. Some projects respond to humanitarian emergencies, as in the countries bordering Ukraine in 2022, or more recently in Mayotte; others to local development issues (schooling, healthcare, psychological support), as in Lebanon.
Prevention and information
Information for all health and childcare professionals, and finally, and through them, for families. How to spot and take action against child abuse? What are the "weak signals" of bullying? How to care for the mental health of toddlers? How can we make women more active participants in childbirth? What problems do migrant mothers face? These are just some of the questions to which the Mustela Foundation strives to provide clear, accessible answers in a variety of formats: podcasts, videos, online articles, etc. These information and prevention tools are systematically designed in collaboration with experts in the field.
"
Research, fieldwork, information: with this triptych, the Mustela Foundation is fully committed to (future) professionals and the families they support.
